Useful Web Sites
Today with all the complexity and regulation revolving around vocational driving, and with the law changing so rapidly, third party web sites are often out of date before they are published. Below you will find links to several official and one or two unofficial web site offering information and help relating to your vocational licence.
Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for information presented on any external web site.
- The Driving Standards Agency This is where you now go to gather information relating to your vocational test.
- The Driver & Vehicle Licencing Agency This is your gateway to all matters relating to the vehicle excise duty (your tax disc).
- Driver CPC Information This site offers information and a point at which you can find information relating to the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
- Government Gateway If you were not aware, in many instances you can check the progress of any interaction you may have with the Government through the Government Gateway web site. You will need to create an account and sign up to the required service.
- Department for Transport More generally transport across the United Kingdom comes under the umbrella of the Department For Transport. This includes departments such as the Highways Agency, and the Office For Low Emission Vehicles. I have included this link as a lead in to other transport related topics.
- Truck Net UK I included this site because sometimes we need to look at the experience of other drivers. Do be aware that this site, whilst a great place for dicussion is NOT a true representative of the law. Always check before you believe what you read.
- Truck and Driver A magazine for diesel-heads!
- Truck Driver A web site with lots of useful practical information. e.g. descriptions of the different tachgraph types and how to use them, maps and where to find them - complete with reviews and links to book stores, and loads of other truck related material, etc.
